A Thor outdoor kitchen can be as simple as one grill on a cart or as complete as a modular L-shaped island with a grill, a wood-burning pizza oven, a sink and an outdoor-rated refrigerator. Thor builds its outdoor grills and modular cabinets from 304 stainless steel and designs the modular cabinets to line up with one another, so you can start with the grill and add stations later. The Thor Outdoor Kitchen Lineup at a Glance
Thor's outdoor range splits into three groups. The modular MK suite is a set of stainless cabinets on casters, each with one job, that line up into a straight run or an L. The TPG3601 grills are 36-inch, four-burner grills, sold on a freestanding cart or as a built-in grill head for a masonry island. The indoor/outdoor refrigeration adds cold storage and ice next to the grill.

Building a Thor Modular Outdoor Kitchen With the MK Suite
The MK cabinets are built to complement and fit with one another, so the planning question is which stations you want and in what order. A common straight run is bar center, grill cabinet with the grill on top, then refrigerator cabinet. Add the MK06SS304 corner cabinet and the pizza oven to turn it into an L that wraps a patio corner.
Everything rolls. The bar center, grill cabinet, refrigerator cabinet, corner cabinet and pizza oven cabinet each ride on two 3-inch fixed casters and two 3-inch locking swivel casters, so you can roll a piece out to clean behind it, then lock it in place. Everything is 304 stainless. Thor uses 304-grade stainless steel on the MK suite for rust resistance and easy cleaning.

Pick the MK04SS304 if you are building the modular MK suite and want the grill to match the cabinets. Pick the TPG3601 for the most grilling area on a patio where you do not want permanent construction; its ceramic briquette heat control grids spread heat evenly and limit flare-ups, and a built-in temperature gauge and a double-wall 304 stainless hood round it out. Pick the TPG3601-G for a stone or block island. If that island has combustible framing, Thor makes the IJBG3626 insulated jacket for the TPG3601-G to protect the surrounding structure from grill heat.
Propane or Natural Gas for a Thor Outdoor Grill
The MK04SS304 ships ready for liquid propane, and Thor lists the TPG3601 and TPG3601-G as liquid propane, convertible to natural gas. Propane is the simplest start: a tank under the grill and you are cooking. Natural gas makes sense when there is already a gas line at the patio, because you never swap tanks again.
For the MK04SS304, Thor's MK04NG natural gas kit includes a 10-foot gas hose with a quick-connect brass fitting, a regulator, burner orifices and the hardware and tools for the conversion. The TPG3601 and TPG3601-G convert with a natural gas kit sold separately. Have a licensed gas technician do the conversion and the line hookup, and decide on the fuel before you order so the right parts arrive with the grill.
Outdoor Refrigeration and Ice: TRF24U, TRZ24U and TIM1511
The TRF24U refrigerator drawers are rated for indoor and outdoor use, hold 5.4 cu. ft. across two soft-close drawers, run at 44 dB and use convection cooling with digital touch controls. They can go freestanding or built in, and they are the drawer the MK02SS304 cabinet is designed to house. The TRZ24U freezer drawers match it at 24 inches wide with 3.36 cu. ft. of storage, a 0°F to -7°F range and no-frost cooling, for ice cream, frozen appetizers and extra bags of ice.
The TIM1511 ice maker is the piece that changes how you entertain. Thor rates it at up to 68 pounds of ice per day at 70°F air and 50°F water (55 pounds at 90°F air and 70°F water), with a 26-pound bin, a built-in pump, an in-line water filter with a 6-month reminder, adjustable cube size, Sabbath mode and ENERGY STAR certification. It needs a dedicated 15A, 120V circuit, a drain and a water supply; the 1/4-inch water supply kit is sold separately. Thor Outdoor Kitchen Planning Checklist
Fuel. Choose propane or natural gas first; it decides whether you need the MK04NG or the TPG natural gas kit.
Power. The refrigerator drawers, freezer drawers and ice maker all run on 120V. Plan outdoor-rated, GFCI-protected outlets where your local code requires them, and a dedicated 15A circuit for the TIM1511.
Water and drain. The MK01SS304 bar center comes with a drain hose and water pipe, and the TIM1511 needs a water supply and a drain. Run both before the patio is finished.
Enclosure. A built-in grill in combustible framing needs the IJBG3626 jacket. The rolling MK cabinets need a level surface for the locking casters.
