How to Choose

Start with the roof or mounting surface, not the panel. Asphalt shingle takes a flashed L-foot; standing seam metal takes a clamp that never penetrates the roof; corrugated metal needs a bracket matched to the rib profile; tile requires a hook or a no-penetration ballast base. Once the attachment is settled, size the rail to your module dimensions and local wind and snow loads, then confirm the clamp fits your module frame height — most fall between 30mm and 40mm.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a grounding lug on every rail?

Bonded splices maintain continuity along a rail run, so most arrays need one lug per continuous rail rather than one per section. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and your local inspector.

Can I mix rail and clamps from different brands?

Do not. Clamp geometry, rail channel profile and bonding are engineered together, and mixing voids the structural warranty and the UL 2703 listing.

What about standing seam metal roofs?

Use a seam clamp such as the S5! range. It attaches without penetrating the roof, so the roof warranty stays intact.
