Not sure where to start? Read our Outdoor Fireplace Buying Guide before you buy.
Outdoor fireplaces are the single highest-ROI addition you can make to a covered patio, three-season room, or backyard kitchen build. They extend the usable season by 4-6 months in most US climates, anchor the outdoor space visually, and dramatically increase home resale appeal for buyers who entertain outside.
Urban Supply carries IP-rated outdoor-safe electric fireplaces from the Amantii Panorama series (BI-SLIM-OD, BI-DEEP-OD, BI-DEEP-XT outdoor variants), the Remii BAY-SLIM (rated for indoor or outdoor installation), and the full Fire Magic outdoor gas lineup. Every unit in this collection has been factory-rated for outdoor exposure — sealed electronics, IP-rated components, and stainless or powder-coated fasteners that hold up to weather.
Two installation requirements to know:
Free US shipping on outdoor units over $299 (certain exclusions apply). Most ship LTL freight to curbside in 3-7 business days. Authorized dealer pricing, full manufacturer warranty for outdoor exposure. Call 917-540-6070 for spec consultation.
Outdoor electric fireplaces (Amantii outdoor-rated Panorama, Remii BAY-SLIM) need a covered structure, a GFCI-protected 120V or 240V circuit, and ambient temperatures down to about -20°F. They light up the patio with the multi-color FIRE & ICE flame platform but produce relatively modest heat (4,800-9,000 BTU on the larger units).
Outdoor gas fireplaces (Fire Magic, certain Napoleon and Empire models) produce serious heat — 30,000-60,000 BTU — and run on either natural gas line or propane tank. They cost more to install (gas line stub-out by a licensed plumber) but they're functional in shoulder-season weather that electric units can't really warm.
For year-round patio use in any climate north of zone 7, gas is the right call. For light-duty ambience and 3-season use in moderate climates, electric is faster to install and cheaper to operate.
