How to choose a Forno refrigerator

• Layout: French door gives the widest fresh-food shelf; side-by-side keeps freezer items at eye level; bottom freezer covers the narrowest widths; Maderno columns convert between the two.
• Width and capacity: 22 to 24-inch models hold 8.3 to 10.3 cu. ft.; 30 to 36-inch models run 15.6 to 27.4; the 60-inch Maderno pair holds 27.2 and the 62-inch Milano 34.4 cu. ft.
• Built-in or freestanding: Salerno, Maderno and the 36-inch Moena are built-in or counter depth, several with a grille trim kit; the 62-inch Milano is freestanding; Rivestito offers panel ready models.
• Door swing and dispensers: Maderno and Custodia come in left or right swing; Rivello, Aosta and the 36-inch Salerno add a water dispenser; Gallipoli, Aosta and the 36-inch Moena have an ice maker.
• Finish: stainless steel throughout, black or white with antique brass or stainless steel handles on most series, and red, white or black with a copper-tone handle on the retro Storico.
