olympic-kilns-gf3e-square-glass-kiln
Olympic Kilns GF3E Square Glass Kiln, 1,700°F, 3.33 cu ft

The Olympic Kilns GF3E is a square glass kiln with 3.33 cu ft of firing space that fires to 1,700°F. Olympic Kilns has built kilns in Flowery Branch, Georgia for more than 50 years, and every kiln is built to order in the USA.

The GF3E's square design expands the firing space provided by traditional cylindrical glass kilns. The model has an element in the kiln lid to provide the radiant heat needed when the fusing temperature is reached, and elements in the kiln walls to provide conductive heat. Elements in the firing chamber evenly heat the glass piece, and the lid element is activated when the fusing temperature is reached. Models have a maximum temperature range of 1700°F to protect the optional quartz glass viewing window, but can be reprogrammed to fire to higher temperatures. Top-loading Glass fusing kilns come in cylindrical and square styles and have the option of top-loading, clamshell loading, or top and clamshell loading. Glass kiln models 20" wide or larger are equipped with a lid lift assist for easy opening and closing of the kiln lid; however, smaller-width kilns have the option of adding a lid lift if needed.

240-208-volt glass fusing kilns come equipped with a pilot light, a tall 18" metal stand or frame, a stainless steel jacket, and a Bartlett KilnStar digital controller. Included in the kiln package are peephole plugs and instruction manuals. Two-year Kiln Limited Warranty.

Consider upgrading to the Genesis touchscreen controller for more ramp-hold user programs and additional features, including delay start, preheat, skip step, and more, for precise firings every time. Messages and information are available for reviewing a firing profile before or during the firing, and viewing the current segment the firing is in. Options include Type S thermocouple, flash arm, quartz glass viewing windows, lid elements in quartz rods, venting, and more! Solid-state relays are also an option.

Furniture Kits for 240-208-volt Glass Fusing kilns provide two layers of shelving for stacking ware, assorted small square posts, 1" x 1", for models 18" wide or smaller, and large square posts, 1 ½" x 1 ½", for kilns 20" wide or larger, and ceramic paper. Choose the standard furniture kit for the selected model, or build your own with shelves and posts in the required quantities.

Specifications

Model

GF3E

Wiring Specifications

1 Phase

Equipped with Lid Lift Assist

Yes

Volts

208

240

Inside Chamber Dimensions w x d x h (inches)

25 x 25 x 9

Amps

40

39

Cubic Feet

3.33

Watts

9,360

Outside Dimensions with Stand or Frame w x d x h (inches)

39.5 x 50 x 39

Breaker Required

60 Amp

50 Amp

Brick Thickness

3"

Plug Configuration

NEMA 6-50

Maximum Temperature

1700°F/927°C

Copper Wire Size

#8, #6 if the circuit is longer than 40 ft

Est Ship Wt

400 lbs

Controller options

Choose the standard Bartlett KilnStar digital controller or upgrade to the Genesis touchscreen controller, which adds more ramp-hold programs and on-screen firing information.
