The gas strut easily opens the firing chamber, and the sleek wooden handle keeps things cool as you slide the kiln floor out to a fully extended 62\" front-to-back. The model has an element in the kiln's lid to provide radiant heat needed when the fusing temperature is reached, and elements in the kiln walls for conductive heat. Elements in the firing chamber are used to evenly heat the glass piece, and the lid element is used when the fusing temperature is reached. Models have a maximum temperature range of 1700°F to protect the optional quartz glass viewing window, but can be reprogrammed to fire to higher temperatures.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 314 Slider comes equipped with a pilot light, a tall 18\" heavy-angle iron stand, a stainless steel jacket, and a KilnStar electronic controller.
