The 149 Slider is bolted to an 8\" heavy-angle iron stand and comes completely assembled when shipped. The lid brace arm is built into the side and locks the firing chamber when the lid is opened. The sleek wooden handle keeps things cool as you slide the kiln floor out to a fully extended 36\" front-to-back. The model has an element in the kiln lid to provide the radiant heat needed when the fusing temperature is reached, and elements in the kiln walls to provide conductive heat. Elements in the firing chamber evenly heat the glass piece, and the lid element is activated when the fusing temperature is reached.
