Because it is unvented, it needs no chimney or vent pipe, so it can go almost anywhere in the home, and it runs on IntelliFire Touch intermittent pilot ignition.

Choose the standard-BTU model (34,000 BTU/hr natural gas / 33,000 propane) or the reduced-BTU model (24,500 / 24,000 BTU/hr). Per the installation manual, the reduced-BTU model allows a lower TV mounting height in Monessen’s guidelines. Note: the 42" ships without a remote, LED lights or black glass panels; the IFT2-RC450 remote and other upgrades are sold separately.

What's Included

Artisan 42" vent-free fireplace

Crushed glass media (4 bags) and deflector glass

7-1/4" non-combustible board

Two anchoring screws

Required to Complete Installation (Sold Separately)

Gas supply line and shut-off per local code (external regulator required on propane)

Unswitched 110–120 VAC junction box

Features

Standard model: up to 34,000 BTU/hr (NG) / 33,000 BTU/hr (LP)

Reduced-BTU model: up to 24,500 BTU/hr (NG) / 24,000 BTU/hr (LP)

42" x 17" viewing area

Vent-free: no chimney or vent pipe required

IntelliFire Touch intermittent pilot ignition (IPI) with ODS; battery backup uses 4 AA cells (not included)

Crushed glass media and deflector glass included

May be installed against a combustible back wall; non-combustible board for above the opening is supplied

Factory-built for one fuel (natural gas or propane); not field-convertible

Optional: IFT2-RC450 remote, IFT-WFM Wi-Fi module, contemporary faces, satin black inside-fit trim kit, driftwood log set, stone kit

Specifications

Models

AVFL42NIF-BU / AVFL42PIF-BU (standard); AVFL42NIF-RB / AVFL42PIF-RB (reduced BTU)

Heat Input (0–2,000 ft)

Standard: NG 23,500–34,000, LP 26,000–33,000 BTU/hr; Reduced: NG 17,500–24,500, LP 19,000–24,000 BTU/hr

Viewing Area

42" x 17"

Framing (W x H x D)

46-5/8" x 39-3/4" x 13-1/8"

Appliance Size (W x H x D)

46-1/8" x 39-1/2" x 13-3/8"

Appliance Weight

195 lb

Ignition

IntelliFire Touch IPI with ODS pilot

Electrical

Unswitched 110–120 VAC, 60 Hz to the junction box

Clearances

Ceiling at least 36" above the opening; sidewall at least 6" from the appliance interior; 36" to furnishings in front

Certification

UL listed to ANSI Z21.11.2-2019 (unvented room heater)

Vent-free notice: vent-free gas appliances are not permitted in some states and municipalities, and they must not be installed in a bedroom or bathroom.
